Job Summary

As a Streaming Systems Specialist, you will play a pivotal role on the Casuro Demo Engineering team, focusing on the design, optimization, and scalability of high-performance media streaming solutions. Working alongside top-tier engineers, you will contribute to the architecture and reliability of our low-latency, real-time communication infrastructure. This is an on-site position based in Columbia, MO, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with experts in the field and work on cutting-edge streaming technology.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement highly performant streaming systems for real-time media delivery
Optimize WebRTC, WebSockets, and Socket.IO protocols to ensure minimal latency and maximum reliability
Build scalable media streaming infrastructure supporting protocols such as RTMP, HLS, and DASH
Collaborate with engineering teams to define and develop system architecture for new and existing products
Monitor system performance, analyze bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies
Troubleshoot complex networking and streaming issues to ensure uninterrupted user experiences
Contribute technical expertise to planning, code reviews, and strategic project decisions

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
3-5 years of hands-on experience in streaming systems or real-time communication environments
Extensive experience with WebRTC for real-time peer-to-peer communication
Proficiency in bidirectional communication protocols including WebSockets and Socket.IO
Proven track record in building and optimizing low-latency communication systems
Strong programming skills in one or more of: JavaScript/Node.js, Go, C++, Python
In-depth knowledge of media streaming protocols (RTMP, HLS, DASH)
Solid understanding of network protocols, codecs, and media processing
Experience working with cloud platforms and distributed system architectures
Expertise in performance optimization and scalability of streaming services
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work on-site in Columbia, MO

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large-scale video streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube Live, etc.)
Background in game networking, multiplayer services, or matchmaking system development
Hands-on experience with financial trading platforms requiring low-latency order and execution systems
Expertise in telecommunications platforms utilizing WebRTC-based solutions
Familiarity with advanced security and encryption measures for real-time streaming
Contributions to open-source streaming or communication frameworks
