Job Summary

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and operating the reliable backend services and APIs that power Casuro Demo’s customer-facing products and internal platforms. This full-time, on-site position in our New York office is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who excels at both hands-on delivery and technical stewardship. Reporting to the Engineering team, you will help shape service architecture, set engineering standards, and champion operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems and APIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Management, and UX teams to deliver business value
Lead technical design discussions and architectural decisions for backend services
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the advancement of engineering best practices
Ensure code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, and clear documentation
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize services for reliability and scalability
Participate in the on-call rotation and contribute to incident response efforts
Drive technical initiatives and process improvements within the Engineering team

Required Qualifications

5+ years of backend development experience with strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node.js, or similar
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database design and management
Proven experience with API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent problem-solving abilities and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with message queues, caching systems, and monitoring/observability tools
Familiarity with security best practices and industry compliance requirements
Knowledge of infrastructure as code and DevOps workflows
Contributions to open-source projects
Background working in a startup or high-growth company environment

Competitive salary range: $160,000 – $200,000 USD/year (commensurate with experience)
