About us

Porter is the AI finance team for startups and SMBs. We built the system where a company’s entire finance function runs: the books, the AI employees that do the work inside them, and the control plane that keeps it accountable.

Two humans, a growing roster of AI agents, and a corporate memory system called Aurelian that never forgets a decision. We’re VC-backed, pre-seed, and going after the $450B+ finance-function labor market that every small business currently patches together with QuickBooks and a prayer.

We need a third human for the summer. If you’re good, for a lot longer.

The Deal

Ten weeks, starting ASAP. If it works (and we expect it to), this extends into a part-time role during the school year and converts to full-time when you graduate next summer.

What You’ll Do

Work directly with the CEO as a generalist: client delivery one hour, marketing video the next, product testing after that. No two days look the same.

  • Dogfood Porter alongside the team, acting as a fractional finance operator for real customers

  • Automate workflows using Claude, Porter’s MCP tools, and the latest AI tooling

  • Be client-facing from week one: you’ll liaise with founders and operators on their finances

  • Create marketing content (videos, posts, demos) using AI-native creative tools

  • Vibe code: you don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be able to build things with AI that work

You

  • Are pursuing an MBA or business degree and comfortable with finance and accounting concepts. You don’t need a CPA. You need to know your way around a P&L.

  • Are AI-obsessed. You use Claude daily. You try every new tool. You automate before you delegate. You’re the person in your cohort who people come to when they want to know what’s new in AI.

  • Are a force multiplier. Fast learner, resourceful, creative, allergic to doing things the slow way.

  • Can talk to customers. You’ll be in front of founders and operators immediately. Poise matters.

  • Ship. Videos, posts, prototypes, automations. You don’t wait for a prompt. You build.

You’ll build AI processes from scratch, serve real paying customers, and help shape a product that’s replacing the finance function for startups and SMBs. You’ll learn how AI products get built, how AI agents replace human workflows at scale, and what it takes to go from pre-seed to product-market fit.

When your classmates are explaining what their summer team did, you’ll be explaining what you built.
